About the project

In my role as Senior Writer with BBC UX&D, I worked with almost every BBC digital product team, from CBeebies to BBC Sports. I wrote app copy, scripted videos, advised on user flow and content design.

I was also part of an internal innovation team – bring emergent storytelling tools and digital creativity to broadcast teams across the BBC. In this guise I conducted research with BBC at Edinburgh Festivals, prototyped radio experiences for deaf audiences, led chatbot prototyping workshops and was the lead writer/narrative designer for the BBC's first audience-facing augmented reality app (Civilisations AR)... among other things!

BBC iPlayer

I regularly collaborated with BBC iPlayer, working on all sorts from UI copy, to splash screens, to scriptwriting how-to videos. I also worked with the team behind the launch of BBC iPlayer Kids to refine the app's UI copy and user experience.

BBC Music – Get Playing

Another project I worked on while at the BBC was Get Playing – the BBC's home for amateur music making in the UK. During one summer, BBC Music invited the audience to pick up an instrument and get playing Bizet's Toreador for a chance to feature as part of the The Proms. I worked as a Senior Writer with the team to deliver the campaign website, where the audience could discover music for every skill level and instrument you can imagine, as well as tutorials and inspirational videos from the campaign's champions.
