About the project

...the slightly silly but surprisingly useful card game for critical thinking and creative action.

Developed by ThoughtDen with the Natural History Museum of Utah, CRACT! gets teenagers talking about climate change in a playful, productive, non-scary(!) way.

ThoughtDen brought me in to join a handful of play testing sessions to help shape the gameplay. I then came on board to write copy for various game prototypes – including the final card deck and box copy.

On the cards you'll find a variety of problem scenarios, prompts to spark creative ideas and solutions, and challenges to  stretch your idea even further. â€‹To find out more about the game, here's a short 'How to play' video.

And just for fun, here are some lines that were a little too silly to make the cut…

Mercury is in retrograde. Misfortune. Misfortune everywhere!
