About the project
Releasing Hope is a tale of community and collective effort in the fight against mosquito-borne illness. I worked with the team to develop the story, and wrote the script outlining the key moments, character journey and visual storytelling throughout the film
Created with Flow for World Mosquito Programme, the film brings attention to the global impact of diseases like dengue, Zika and chikungunya, and highlights WMP's pioneering 'Wolbachia method' that is helping to reduce the prevalence of such diseases.
The brief was a challenging one in that the entire story needed to be told without words, to transcend languages and work for audiences the world over – while taking the viewer on an emotional journey through the human impact of mosquito-born illness. The narrative itself is inspired by real stories, and the individuals and communities who have come together with WMP to fight back against disease.

They took a complex global health challenge and transformed it into a beautifully crafted, emotionally resonant story that speaks to audiences in a truly human way... The film captures not only the urgency of our mission, but also the hope and collective action at its heart. It has already become a powerful tool in helping us engage communities, partners and governments around the world.
