About the project
The conflict in Syria has been raging for more than a decade, during which many children and their loved ones have been injured, killed, traumatised and displaced. Syria Relief is on the ground addressing humanitarian needs, supporting healthcare, education and livelihoods for millions of people in need.

Flow Creative commissioned me to write scripts for two animated films, to head up fundraising campaigns for Syria Relief. The first film was intended to raise awareness on the tenth anniversary of conflict. The second focused on the rebuilding effort.

Both scripts are based on in depth research, in particular – listening to Syrian children talk about their own experiences. Children who, despite everything, shine on radiating hope for the future.

"I’ve worked with an awful lot of brilliant writers over the past 22 years, but Michelle is the most talented by far - creatively gifted and she also has a really well researched understanding of projects, she reads, she listens, she understands - I trust her completely."
